History - Visit to Nothe Fort

On Monday the 26th of March Year 5 went on a school trip to Nothe Fort, Weymouth. It was a great trip and we learnt alot about life in Britain during World War Two.  For example, we learnt WWII songs, how children got evacuated, what it felt like in a air raid shelter (Anderson and Morrison), 1940's shopping and laundry room, and what it was like at school.

DT - Spitfire Models and Enterprise Week

During Enterprise Week Year 5 have been making Spitfire planes. The Spitfire planes were used before, during and and after WWII and were an outstanding piece of machinery that helped Britain to win a major air battle known as 'The Battle of Britain'.  We made them out of wood, paper, elastic bands, paper clips, beads and propellers. We painted them to make them look like real Spitfires. We had great fun making them, and they look amazing.  So we hope your children will buy them they are soooooooooo good. Written by CR and EG
